What Does it Cost?
The
Celebrant fee is usually comparable to the fees charged by clergy
for performing a funeral. This ranges widely across the country from
$100 - $500. The Celebrant will spend approximately 10 hours in
preparation for service, as well as the expenses of training and
maintaining a resource library. Funeral Directors who also serve as
Celebrants are doing so outside of their role as Funeral Director
and should be compensated for their expertise.
Funeral Celebrants are not supported by any religious or other
organization. They are independent professionals in a caring
profession with all the overhead and expenses of any business
person. Celebrants are generous in their time with a bereaved family
when they prepare for a ceremony.
